What is a pada?
Each nakshatra is split into four quarters of 3°20′, called padas or charanas. The 27 nakshatras make 108 padas, nine to each rashi.
How do I choose a baby name from the nakshatra?
Each pada has a syllable; a name starting with it is the traditional choice. The finder shows the syllable of your pada and of all four padas.
Is the nakshatra the same as the rashi?
No. The rashi is the Moon's sign (one of 12); the nakshatra is the finer division (one of 27). Two people of the same rashi can have different nakshatras.
What are gana, yoni and nadi?
Gana is the temperament (Deva, Manushya, Rakshasa), yoni the animal nature and nadi the constitution (Aadi, Madhya, Antya). All three are scored in kundli matching.
