    In Hindi the syllable is read exactly. In English letters ट and त (or ड and द) look the same, so a name can point to two rashis; the page then shows both.

    A long or short vowel (ि or ी) is treated as one syllable, and a conjunct (क्र, श्य) takes its first consonant.

My naam rashi and janma rashi differ — which is right?

Both are real, for different uses. The janma rashi (the Moon at birth) is the one for the kundli; the naam rashi is used where the birth time is not known.

Why does my English name give two rashis?
