Questions · प्रश्न
How many Amavasya dates are there in 2018?
12: the first is Magha Amavasya on Tuesday, 16 January 2018, the last Margashirsha Amavasya on 7 December 2018.
2018 में कितनी अमावस्या हैं?
12 — पहली माघ अमावस्या (16 जनवरी 2018), अंतिम मार्गशीर्ष अमावस्या (7 दिसंबर 2018)।
Why can the Amavasya date differ between cities?
A Hindu day runs from one sunrise to the next, and the tithi at sunrise (or at moonrise, pradosh or the ingress, as the vrat needs) names the day. Sunrise differs by place, so a city far from Delhi can keep the vrat a day apart; the month calendar gives your city's dates.
